Hemlock Residence
Soda Springs, California
3,200 square feet
At the edge of a mountain lake, Hemlock is a clear gabled volume . The concrete walls protect and rigidify the base from the elements. The upper charred wood volume floats above the snow pack. The west facade's transparency and openness connectsthe interior to the wilderness beyond.
